A Sure Way to Succeed in Writing

I’ve got a marketing plan. I’ve got promotional strategies. And I’ve got a current writing plan.

Write five novels. Edit them. Ready them for publication.

Then write a query letter that says, “I’ve finished five novels (blah blah info on the five), and am working on three more. Enclosed please find the first thirty pages of novel one, a story in which an intrepid beagle and his bald childhood owner…”

This has always been my plan. Wait until I have five novels ready to go.

If my 30 pages on book one are good, the agent will sign me. If my 30 pages are good but not enough to grab, now they’re going to ask me, “Can you send me thirty pages on the book about the little dancing pig?”

Mwahahahaha!

Proper planning prevents poor performance.
